“Ringing in the New Year”

Over the holiday season I read of a business that has a bell in their work space. Whenever any employee experiences what they call a “work-win”, that employee would walk over and ring the bell to celebrate the “win”. It didn’t matter if the “win” was large or small. Quoting from the article, “Over time, ringing the bell became both a tangible sign of progress and also a ritual that helped them stop and savor the joy of good work done well.”

That article inspired me to take a few moments to look back and feel a deep sense of gratitude for your work and ministry at FPC during this past year. The “bell-ringing” moments have been many.

What is also true is that I am equally grateful for both the more visible signs of your ministry and the quiet, behind the scenes moments where love and grace is shared. So, lets gather this Sunday in worship and ring the church bell, taking a few moments to celebrate the “kingdom-wins” that have taken place in this space.
